The Thousand Autumns: Qian Qiu (千秋) wuxia, danmei novel by Meng Xi Shi is getting an official English language translation by Seven Seas Entertainment (SSE).
SSE will be publishing Qian Qiu novel volumes under its Danmei label, which previously licensed a number of super-popular boys love titles, including all three novels by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu (MXTX), scilicet Heaven Official’s Blessing (天官赐福, Tian Guan Ci Fu), The Scum Villain’s Self-Saving System (人渣反派自救系统, Ren Zha Fanpai Zijiu Xitong), and The Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation (魔道祖师 , Mo Dao Zu Shi). SSE has also licensed the Mo Dao Zu Shi manhua series for an English-language release.
Thousand Autumns: Qian Qiu Volume 1 will be out on February 28, 2023, and will be available in large-trim, deluxe paperback editions priced at US$19.99. The Qian Qiu novel will be also published digitally, so there’s an option to suit everyone’s preferences.
The Thousand Autumns: Qian Qiu Donghua Series
Qian Qiu is a well-known title among danmei fans as it’s already been treated to a donghua adaptation (ONA series). The CGI donghua goes by the name Shanhe Jian Xin (山河剑心) and premiered on Tencent Video in 2021.
The Thousand Autumns Season 2 was announced shortly following the Season 1 premiere, during the Tencent Video Animation Conference in August 2021.
Of course, there have been no follow-ups since, which seems to be the usual case for donghua sequels, even the most popular ones. Hopefully, we Shanhe Jian Xin Season 2 won’t face the same fate as Heaven Official’s Blessing Season 2.
Plot-wise, Thousand Autumns focuses on an unlikely romance between Yan Wushi — a leader of a demonic cultivation clan — and Shen Qiao, the leader of the Xuandu Mountain who gets blinded due to misfortune.
All episodes can be found on BiliBili and elsewhere on YouTube. Use the kanji (山河剑心) to look the series up!
