The Daily Life of the Immortal King (现网的日常生活) known as Xian Wang de Richang Shenghuo in China, has been around since 2015 when Season 1 premiered.
A trailer for The Daily Life of the Immortal King Season 4 (immediately below) was revealed by BiliBili shortly after it had been announced that the donghua sequel was in production.
Xian Wang de Richang Shenghuo Season 1 ran for 15 episodes from January to March 2020 on BiliBili and was subsequently streamed via Netflix. Season 2 aired from October 2021 to January 2022 and was subsequently streamed via Funimation. Season 3 aired from September 2022 to December 2022, also on BiliBili.
The Daily Life of the Immortal King S2 and S3 are presently available via Crunchyroll (12 episodes each).
Haoliners Animation League produced Season 1, with Pb Animation Co. Ltd. taking over for Seasons 2 and 3.
The two main characters — Wang Ling and Sun Rong — were voiced by Sun Lulu and Qian Chen, respectively, in the previous three donghua seasons. The two voice actors are likely to reprise their roles for The Daily Life of the Immortal King Season 4, but we’ll have to wait for an official confirmation to be certain.
The Daily Life of the Immortal King Novel
The Xian Wang de Richang Shenghuo donghua series is based on the eponymous novel by Kuxuan, which debuted in 2017. Qidian is serializing the novel in Chinese and an English translation is available via webnovel.com. No subscription is required to read The Daily Life of the Immortal King novel in English and there are no region limitations.
The novel is still ongoing and rather voluminous. As of December 2022, there were 2190 chapters, with 1176 chapters having been translated to English.
For those unfamiliar with this entertaining supernatural, fantasy, rom-com donghua series, suffice it to say that The Daily Life of the Immortal King tells a story of a certain Wang Ling, who managed to vanquish a high-level demon at the age of six.
At the age of sixteen, he is about to face the biggest challenge yet: the life of a high schooler! Enter Sun Rong, the Student Concil President of the Cultivation School League of the Songhai Faction, who will add spice to the plot.
The series features numerous references to Chinese culture, mixing elements of wuxia and xianxia.
